I learned how the pieces move using “laser beams”. We attach “laser beams” to the pieces that thus move with the pieces, showing which squares they control. Here is an example of how the queen and king can combine to checkmate a lone king, which was featured during the live coverage of the 2022 Chess Tour while the world champion was thinking about his next move!
